Facts about the CA Thayer

In 2004 she was restored at the SF maritime.
The CA Thayer was made in Eureka, CA.
She was made in 1895 out of douglas fir.
When the CA Thayer was first built she was a lumber schooner.
The schooner is 156 feet long.
There was only a small number of crew member on the ship.
The CA Thayer traveled from Washington State to San Francisco and down the coast almost to Mexico.
Park Rangers are hoping to sail her again in 2016 when they raise enough money to fully restore her.
She is berthed at SR Maritime Museum and you can pay $5 to tour her.
She is the last schooner to survive and is over 115 years old.
