This is one of the murals in Coit Tower.

The murals were made for artists to get a job during the Great Depression. 26 artists painted the murals. All the murals were frescoes. It is a slow process to make a fresco. Each stroke is final and the colors cannot be blended with oils. Most of the murals are of California life during the Great Depression. Most of the murals have been restored.
